We definitely vision the future of audio to be slimmer than the slimmest of electronics around. With this, least hyped I must say, one millimeter thick speaker system that Yamaha had tucked secretly in its booth at the CEATEC, we’ve guessed it getting realized already. We’ve seen many slim and invisible speakers come to life lately, but what’s actually novel about these is that the 1mm thin speakers are made from cloth – yeah, you did hear that right. Not absolutely great at the moment, as the ‘flat sound waves emitted from the cloth cannot be heard unless you’re standing directly in front of it.’ That may be changed with time and requirement, thus I consider those ad agencies and portable electronic makers will be eyeing Yamaha to pull it off.
