'Table for Electric Dreams' draws the electrically invisible real
Bharat | Jun 2 2009

Interactive and digital tables deserve a special mentioning in my geekdom. I’ve always been impressed by the peculiarities of each one I have featured here. And this “Table for Electronic Dreams” has left me mesmerized no less, with its splendid sensitivity for electric activities in its vicinity.

We use invisible mediums to communicate, but we know nothing about these invisible boundaries (I say this for a majority and not all), and only use the electronic devices for the comfort and utility we draw from them. But this interactive table instigates us to understand these invisible routes and have a greater bonding with our prized posessions. Developed as a thesis project by Andrew Doro for the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU, the table reveals the electrical activity of the device in the neighborhood, and explains the invisible workings of the electronics.
