Skydiving is fun guaranteed, but taking a leaf from lunacy to launch yourself 25,000 feet in the air on a rocket, and then jump off it, sounds outrageous indeed.
Mr. Bob Maddox a skydiver with useful rocket experience, and with a mind for extreme adventure, plans to strap himself to a four-engine pulse jet rocket, fly it to 25,000 feet, and then jump off it using a parachute to land safely on the ground. There are holdups and a misadventure could be fatal, but Maddox is taking and verifying all possible problems before he takes to the adrenaline-gushing launch into the atmosphere.
Perhaps Maddox is not satisfied with externally designed equipment, and therefore wants to raise about $40,000 so that he could build and fly his own design. Talking about the flight attempt and safety issues, Maddox told Wired.com,
It would be a very slow ascent, just 200 miles an hour, straight up. That way, if there were a malfunction in guidance the vehicle would just slow down and I would get out, instead of it tearing itself apart.
