I often sweat when I’m in some kind of fear or tension. This may be true with most of us, but did we ever think it had a different smell? Scientists believe it does, and are therefore working on a device to recognize pheromone – a scent signal produced in a person’s sweat when he or she is scared.
Having studied underarm secretions of 20 terrified novice skydivers, this smell in fear has been proven with evidence by the scientists. Taking a leaf from which, they have made early inroads into making a prototype device, a security sensor systems which detects human fear pheromone. Time for the bad guys not to fear anymore.
Confirming the possibility of the fear detector, Professor Tong Tun, the team leader said:
If the initial 18-month feasibility study is successful, the first detectors could be developed in the next two to three years.
