Samsung’s eco-friendly Luxia high-def TVs at CES
Bharat | Jan 9 2009

Samsung has delivered the goods yet again, announcing its ultra-slim and highly efficient Luxia range of high-def TVs at CES. The manufacturer has set our eyes back on the thinnest TV. Supporting LED as the chief light source, the TVs are believed to be extremely energy efficient. The Luxia series of HDTVs features three models: the 6000, 7000 and 8000. The Luxia 6000 is 1-inch thick. This majorly slim TV houses four HDMI ports and also have an integrated ATSC tuner, yet consumes about 40% less power than even the conventional LEDs. Based on Samsung’s RSS text base service, like the others, the Luxia 7000 will have four HDMI ports, and USB 2.0 along with wireless DLNA streaming support. The Luxia 8000, carrying on the league from Luxia 7000, is a HDTV delivering 240Hz refresh rate and Samsung’s AutoMotion blur reduction to enhance our visual experience. There is no word on the price of the whole range of eco-friendly TVs, but it is clear that these will be made available sometime by mid-year.
