When it comes to providing the best picture quality in TVs, Samsung is perhaps the first name that strikes the hood. Yes, you have reasons enough to deny, but forget not, it was only Samsung that introduced the first 200Hz LCD and then Sony did it. Now, come the IFA trade show and we could see Samsung wearing another world’s first tag, when it unveils the first 400Hz LCD TV. Will it be a production model or just a prototype, it’s only guesses now, but from Tweakers.net we learn that this new technology from Samsung will “combine the current 200Hz interpolation technique to insert black frames, a technique that is called BFI/DFI [black frame, dark frame interpolation].” Let’s all wait to see what actually unfolds.
