Ondo music-editing phone concept, new league in handhelds
Bharat | Apr 20 2009

No guessing how fast modular devices are changing, it is pretty evident. Here comes a new experience which projects to twist the fate of music-mixing on the go in the very near future. Delivered by industrial design firm Pilotfish, the Ondo is an advanced music-editing concept phone. A touch sensitive handset with a flexible body, which allows the user to twist and turn it to edit those music tracks.

The main touch interface of the concept is designed in three separate OLED screens, which are detachable and combine back to make one single unit. Featuring internal memory, microphone and power source, the attachable sticks can be used to stream audios, or can be fastened to other music instruments. The Ondo concept phone can be used to share music with friends across barriers of distance, and therefore even a novice can become a music pro with the handheld.

Only on paper for now, if the makers are believed, the technology could be seeing the light of day in 2-3 years time. How far can the technology go and what can be the cost is something too early to discuss, therefore content creators can have time at hand to go savvier before the Ondo is real.
