Bharat | Sep 15 2009

Debuting high-end projectors under the $1000 mark has been a call too tough for manufacturers. May not be for the first time, they have done it previously, but this time Epson has done it in style. Dubbed the PowerLite 1716, the maker’s have introduced this bright and portable 3LCD projector that boasts a 2700 ANSI lumens rate with XGA native resolution.

The PowerLite 1716 is a 4 pound device that can project 60-inch images from a distance of about 4 feet away. Offering an USB Plug ‘n Play capability to connect easily with the Windows running PC, the projector also features Optional Wireless Networking with EasyMP wireless module, delivering monitoring and control, for a variety of presentation and audience needs. For a rather easier and quicker wireless connectivity the PowerLite 1716 makes provision for an Optional Quick-Connect Wireless USB key to use it with the laptops et al. The projector courtesy the PC-Free Presentations also makes it possible to project data directly from the USB storage devices when a PC isn’t available.

The Epson PowerLite 1716 will be available in October priced at $999 (estimated street price).
