Disparagers Beware: Anti-Racism Code for the Gentlemen's Game
Bharat | Sep 26 2006

The Gentlemen’s game has lost its charm with so many in-disciplinary acts happening both on and off the field...From ball, tampering controversies to acts of racial discrimination...The games governing body is under grave pressure to come out with some solutions to embark upon the ragging problems.

The ICC has come up with some amendments in the Anti Racism Code...This is already mentioned in the ICC Code of Conduct as racism is considered one of the most serious acts that can be committed in the game of cricket...In the recent past there have been serious violations of this code and to stop it from happening any further this code has been amended.

Cricket is a game that reflects on the world’s miscellany with a wide array of races and religions all involved...And to allow racial discrimination to continue should be unpardonable...This new code promises to get all this to a stand still... It will allow countries to impose a range of punishments on spectators that are found culpable of the racial abuse...That may range from expulsion from the field to a ban for life... If the member countries fail to uphold the code then even they could face consequences ranging from warnings to fines and the possible withdrawal of international status... This will surely retrieve the games lost glory... And help in breaking the barriers of color, religion, race etc.
