CCTV security systems for buses foretell danger
Bharat | Sep 25 2009

Crime is pretty prominent in public transport. Therefore, in an effort to nab anti-social beings on buses, to begin with, a team from Queens University Belfast is developing CCTV security systems to spot assaults on a bus before it happens.

The CCTV system will work by clicking people as they board a bus, information of which is sent to the control room were the individuals are profiled and their general data is compared. Now as the CCTV cameras sense suspicious activity, the data is shifted to the controllers which would be able to intervene before the suspect can carry out the task in mind.

A significant improvisation to make public transport safer, these CCTV security systems iare on the latter stages of theory and in bits are being tested in laboratory conditions. The developing team believes the system could be up within five years.
