Boeing has already introduced the X-45C unmanned aerial vehicle to revolutionize the entire concept of military aviation, and evolve the combat air vehicle genre into a new generation, with is precision weapons demonstration and stuff. Stretching on the same lines, Boeing is now inclined to introduce a new unmanned vehicle, the Phantom Ray by the end of year 2010.
Capabilities that’ll set the Phantom Ray unique, will be its inception derived from the X-45C airframe design, its abilities including autonomous aerial fueling, surveillance and reconnaissance electronic attack and its hunter and killer roles. The Phantom Ray is slated for about 10 test flights, before it actually takes off official in December 2010; I guess Boeing wants to take no chance with this exclusive bird they are hoping.
